In this episode of The Double Dropkick Show, Mark Whitman and Heath Mullikin review Wrestle Kingdom 9.  This wrestling Pay Per View was a joint effort between New Japan Pro Wrestling and Global Force Wrestling with wrestlers from Ring of Honor also appearing.  This is New Japan Pro Wrestling’s biggest show of the year and the first Japanese Pay Per View to be broadcast in the US with English commentary.  Jim Ross and Matt Striker were the commentators for this great event that saw multiple title changes, fast paced action, and an ending that we weren’t expecting. Were you able to watch the show?  What did you think about seeing many of these Japanese wrestlers for the first time?  How awesome was it to hear JR’s voice again?  We would love your comments by sending us a tweet @heathmullikin and @markwhitman or by joining and posting our Facebook Group, The Wrestling You Grew Up With.  We would also appreciate if you took a moment to Like our Facebook Page, and leave us a rating and review on iTunes.

In this episode of the Double Dropkick Show, Heath Mullikin and Mark Whitman give an audio recap of the 1995 Royal Rumble.  This Rumble match is considered one of the worst of all-time and has a major lack of star power compared to previous years especially the 1992 Royal Rumble.  What do you think of this match?  We would love your comments by sending us a tweet @heathmullikin and @markwhitman or by joining and posting our Facebook Group, The Wrestling You Grew Up With.  We would also appreciate if you took a moment to Like our Facebook Page, and leave us a rating and review on iTunes.

At last summers NWA Legends FanFest in Charlotte, I got to interview with Wrestling Belt maker Dave Millican.  Dave has been making some of wrestling’s most memorable belts for the past few decades.  He was kind with his time and with letting all of us marks hold the belts we used to dream about.

You should like Dave Millican’s Facebook Page, follow him on Twitter(@DaveMillican) , and check out his Website(www.davemillicanbelts.com).

At this summer’s NWA Legends FanFest we had the opportunity to do an interview with Karen McDaniel, the widow of former NFL and wrestling great, Wahoo McDaniel.  Karen is getting involved with the wrestling family again and is picking up where she left off as one of the greatest robe makers in the business.  She made numerous robes for wrestlers such as Ric Flair, Tully Blanchard, and Rick Rude while also making other accessories for wrestlers like Manny Fernandez.  If you are a performer looking for a robe that will set you apart from all of the rest then you can reach Karen here via Facebook.

On this special Christmas edition of the Double Dropkick Show, Heath Mullikin and Mark Whitman talk about the Batman movies you grew up with.  We start with the 1966 version starring Adam West, Burt Ward, Cesar Romero, Burgess Meredith, Lee Meriwether, and Frank Gorshin.  Then it’s on to Tim Burton’s Batman and Batman Returns with Michael Keaton, Jack Nicholson, Michelle Pfeiffer, Danny DeVito, Christopher Walken, and Kim Basinger.  Joel Schumacher directed Batman Forever which featured Val Kilmer as Batman, Chris O’Donnell as Robin, Jim Carrey as the Riddler, Tommy Lee Jones as Two-Face and Nicole Kidman as love interest Chase Meridian.  Things went downhill with Batman & Robin.  George Clooney came in as Batman while Arnold Schwarzenegger, Uma Thurman, and Alicia Silverstone were added.  Warner Brothers rebooted the franchise with director Christopher Nolan who brought on Christian Bale to play the lead.  Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, and Gary Oldman were brought on to complete the trilogy ensemble.  Liam Neeson starred as Ra’s Al Ghul in Batman Begins, Heath Ledger won an Oscar for his portrayal of the Joker in the Dark Knight, and Tom Hardy played Bane with Anne Hathaway as Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises.  One of the highlights of this episode is Mark’s spot on impersonation of Michael Gough’s Alfred.  This episode is much longer that our typical ones, and we hope our love of all things Batman comes through.  Join the conversation by leaving a comment on the website, on our Facebook group, or by tweeting @heathmullikin or @theddkshow.
